Apple Cider Vinegar Shots: Reduce Blood Sugar Spikes!
Have you heard of the amazing benefits you can reap from taking apple cider vinegar shots?

Several months ago, I started making drastic changes to my diet in hopes it would heal some health issues I’d been dealing with. At first I cut out all refined sugar and significantly reduced the amount of gluten I consumed. I starting taking a probiotic nightly to help with regularity and to lighten the burden on my pathways of elimination.
Then I read the book Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspe, and let me tell you, that was a GAME CHANGER.
I began implementing her 10 hacks to flatten your glucose curves. They were simple changes- like adding a veggie starter to most of my meals, making an effort to move after meals, and yes, drinking apple cider vinegar shots before eating high carb or high sugar foods.

The results were incredible.
When I cut sugar from my diet, at first I missed my Dr. Pepper VERY much. But after detoxing, I noticed my sugar cravings reduced and usual extreme hunger had lessened significantly. While I still got hungry within 3 hours of a meal, my hunger pains were not so sharp and did not hit me so suddenly. My appetite had shrunk. Not only was I eating better food (because I’d cut out all the processed sugarcrap), I was eating less! My sleep was better because I wasn’t drinking any caffeine (I only ever consumed caffeine in sodas, I’m not a coffee drinker). I lost 3 pounds within 2 weeks. While that’s not a significant amount of weight, I had been calorie counting for WEEKS with no change.
Then, when I began implementing the 10 hacks to flatten your glucose curves, things improved even more.
I stayed full for 4-5 HOURS after meals. I no longer got hungry between meals and didn’t need to pack tons of snacks to take to work like I had been. I lost 2 more pounds within 4 days. I craved sugar and sweet things like fruit less. I also felt the freedom to be able to enjoy sugar occassionally because I had the tools in my toolbelt to be able to mitigate the blood sugar spike that would follow.
So, why tell you all of this?
Because incorporating apple cider vinegar shots into my daily routine was part of this transformation.

Let’s dive in on how I batch prepare my apple cider vinegar shots!

Needed for this apple cider vinegar shot recipe:
A set of small glass bottles.
I bought this set of ten 4-oz glass bottles on Amazon. It came with three little funnels too, which are a must.
A bottle of apple cider vinegar.
I always get Bragg unpasteurized with the mother.
Some drinking water.
The Apple cider vinegar is very strong and should be diluted at least a little bit to avoid discomfort.
A set of measuring spoons.
Of course, you could just eyeball how much apple cider vinegar you put in each bottle. However, I like to measure one tablespoon of ACV into each bottle.
Some paper towels.
Drips and drizzles happen! Be prepared to wipe some up.
Alright, are you ready to make the simplest apple cider vinegar shots ever? Here we go!
- Wash and dry your bottles.
- Measure one tablespoon (or less if you can’t tolerate that much) of apple cider vinegar into each bottle.
- Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water.
- Screw on bottle cap.
- Refrigerate until you’re ready to consume.
- Swirl the bottle before opening to make sure the water and vinegar are mixed- apple cider vinegar contents can settle to the bottom.
- Enjoy!

I love how convenient these little apple cider vinegar shots are in the glass bottles. I can just grab one right out of the fridge whenever I am wanting to eat some carbs or dessert with my meal or as a snack. They are also small enough that I can slip one into my backpack when heading to work and when unexpected glucose spikes arise (a slice of cake for a coworkers birthday), I am able to partake and reduce my glucose spike with an apple cider vinegar shot.
I hope you find these apple cider vinegar shots as helpful and convenient as I have.
